Return to Sport
Returning to your sport involves a structured process that I guide you through. The three stages of this process are:
Return to Participation
Rehabilitation is carried out, allowing the athlete to engage in modified or unrestricted training. Participation may be at a lower intensity than usual.
Return to Sport
The athlete resumes their sport, albeit not at the performance level they were accustomed to. For some, reaching this stage may suffice.
Full Return to Performance
Athletes return to their pre-injury performance levels, ready to compete at their best.
The focus throughout is on post-injury rehabilitation and preventing recurrence of injuries.
Post-Injury Rehabilitation
As a professional in sports rehabilitation, my goal is to help patients achieve optimum levels of functional, occupational, and sports-specific fitness. I ensure you develop the strength and balance required to return to full fitness while reducing the risk of recurrent injuries. Without a proper treatment plan, muscle imbalances, postural dysfunctions, and compensatory movement patterns can arise, increasing the likelihood of injuries elsewhere in the body.
Treatments for Every Athlete
One of the key strengths of sports therapy at Dynamic Movement Physiotherapy in Hereford is its ability to create bespoke treatments tailored to the unique needs of each athlete. Whether you are a runner struggling with shin splints or a weightlifter experiencing joint discomfort, we can devise a personalised strategy that addresses your specific challenges and goals.
Through a combination of hands-on therapies, exercise programmes, and injury prevention techniques, you will receive a comprehensive treatment plan designed for your success.
Techniques used in sports therapy
To achieve the best possible outcomes from sports therapy, a thorough assessment of your specific weaknesses is essential. Regular evaluations ensure progress can be measured over time. At my clinic, we employ advanced techniques such as dynamometry and electromyography.
