ARE YOU TIRED OF WAITING FOR NHS PHYSIOTHERAPY IN HEREFORD OR BROMYARD?

Depending on the requirements. the waiting time for NHS physiotherapy can be a very long time.

By the time you see a physiotherapist, your symptoms may have become worse and may have progressed to a stage that requires more drastic action.

Even when you receive your appointment you may only have a few before being discharged. Due to the length of the appointment times, the appointments that you do have will often just include general exercise programs (without suitable progression), minimal, if any hands-on treatments, and there are rarely enough appointments to see rehabilitation through  adequately.

After working as an NHS physiotherapist for several years I understand that there is a lot of pressure to discharge patients quickly in order to get through the waiting lists.

At Dynamic Movement Physiotherapy, Hereford, you will rapidly receive a thorough assessment and treatment program, involving both manual therapy, electrotherapy, and progressive exercise programs

Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy and Sports Massage are all available to satisfy your needs.

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY AVAILABLE

At Dynamic Movement Physiotherapy - Hereford & Bromyard, we also utilize advanced technology that can be used during the assessments and treatments as required. The application of these modalities can be tailored to individual needs, taking into account any contraindications or risks that may restrict their use.

The following is a brief introduction to the technology used, but click on the links that follow for more detailed information.

Technology Used During Assessment

  • ELECTROMYOGRAPHY (EMG):

Captures data on muscle activation and contraction using electrodes placed on the skin. These then transmit information to the computer for easy analysis.

  • DYNAMOMETERS:

The ActivForce dynamometer evaluates the overall muscle strength in a specific limb. This is connected to an app.

  • STABILISER PRESSURE BIOFEEDBACK CUFF:

Measures the strength of abdominal and neck muscles.

  •

  • PALM PAPLPATION METER

Assesses pelvic position and leg length, which gives information on how the dynamic chain through the body is being affected.

The data gained from the above can be analysed at the assessment and monitored throughout treatment, giving information on how rehabilitation is progressing.

For more information on any of the above, please click on their links below.

Technology Used During Treatments

  • ELECTRICAL MUSCULAR STUIMULATION (EMS):

As with the EMG, EMS uses electrodes placed on the skin. However, this time they have a different function. Rather than transmitting data for measuring muscle activity, they provide stimulation to areas of weakness. When working, the advanced technology will be measuring what part of the muscle requires assistance and is able to assist the muscle during the contraction. This can then help improve the strength of the specific muscles.

  • THERAPEUTIC ULTRASOUND (US):

This method helps to alleviate pain and swelling and promotes faster recovery of any damage to soft tissues (muscles/ligaments).

  • NEUROMUSCULAR ELECTRICAL STIMULATION - NMES (INTERFERENTIAL THERAPY):

Either used individually or along side therapeutic ultrasound to help stimulate uscles and/or reduce pain.

  • SHOCKWAVE THERAPY:

This treatment also supports recovery and can be scheduled independently, provided there are no contraindications.
